Costa Coffee is the largest and fastest growing coffee shop chain in the UK and they still slow-roast their beans in exactly the same way as they did over 40 years ago.
Costa was the first UK coffee chain to control the whole coffee making process from start to finish, they still source, store, blend, roast, grind and handcraft all their own coffee, making sure they maintain their high standards. The coffee beans are sent to nearly 5,000 Costa destinations, from traditional coffee shops in 29 countries to Costa Express machines.
Protecting the Planet
Costa source 100% of their beans from farms certified by the Rainforest Alliance, meaning that all the farms use sustainable practices and are annually audited to ensure this continues. The paper cups used by Costa are made of sustainable wood pulp from forests across northern Europe.
40% of the electricity supplied to Costa store comes from renewable sources; their stores are now using 21% less energy than they were in 2009.
It’s not just the Baristas who have helped make Costa the nation’s favourite- Costa are passionate about investing in all their employees, who receive the highest standards of training and personal development.
