Senior Credit Controller

Job Description

Based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire our client is looking for a Senior Credit Controller to join their well-established team on a permanent basis.

This position would suit someone with at least 5 years' experience in a corporate credit control environment with good knowledge of SAP, to be responsible for minimising financial risk to the company by investigating and evaluating new and existing customers' creditworthiness and analyses credit risk.

This company are leading specialists in electronics and semiconductors distribution and manufacturing.

The successful individual be an experienced and analytical credit controller with good knowledge of credit insurance and dealing with multi-currency accounts. This person will be collaborative with good communication skills to liaise with other departments and teams. Excellent IT skills are essential, including Microsoft Office and Excel. SAP knowledge is also essential for this role.

Duties include:

• Researches and verifies credit data on customers to establish or update lines of credit.
• Assess, recommend and/or approve credit limits using credit agencies for new and existing accounts.
• Investigates and resolves customer invoice disputes to facilitate payment from, or issuance of, credit to customer.
• Reviews customer accounts for aging of unpaid balances and pending orders, solicits payments on overdue accounts, places delinquent accounts on 'hold' status until payment arrangements are secured, determines payment plans/schedules.
• Follows up on payment arrangements and recommends transfer of outstanding customer accounts to collection agencies.
• Maintains a variety of files and records associated with delinquent accounts, incomplete files and credit risks.
• Maintains and updates electronic and/or hard copy files in a timely and accurate manner.
• Responsible for cash collection on a Ledger in excess of 150 customers, with a ledger balance of over £100million.
• Ensure all targets are achieved in line with management directives and goals
• Work closely with the Sales teams to close down disputes within a timely manner
