Job Description

Based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, our growing client seeks a Management Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis, working in a hybrid manner after successful training period. The business offers early Friday finishes.

This job would suit someone with a minimum of 5 years' proven management accountant experience to own the production of the monthly management accounts and any other financial reporting requirement. Your input will help towards the successful growth and prosperity of the organisation.

The company are a consultancy business within specialist markets across the UK and internationally who have experienced considerable growth (with this year targeting 25% growth). This has created the need to recruit an additional, experienced member to the team to free the Head of Finance up to concentrate on more strategic issues.

The successful individual will have a good track record in owning the monthly management pack production for multinational companies, with strong attention to detail and numeracy attributes. This person will have strong communication skills to liaise with all stakeholders of the business, both internal and external. Excellent working knowledge of Access Dimensions, InTime, Bullhorn or similar systems is required. The right candidate must have advanced knowledge of MS Excel, preferably including PivotTables, VLookups, Index/Match and data tables experience.

Job responsibilities:

  • Production of monthly management accounts
  • Working on projects to develop the accounts function to ensure that we meet the organisational requirements
  • Production and verification of gross margin reports
  • Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Analysis of travel expenses and calculation of PSA liability
  • Preparation of accruals and prepayments
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Preparation of commission reports
  • Preparation of VAT and other statutory reports
  • Bank and IDF reconciliations
  • Assist with any audits - Statutory, Bank and ISO
  • Reviewing and updating internal procedures to maximise output
  • Provide monthly financial reports to leadership team and business units
  • To establish, foster and maintain close working relationships with all finance teams and other support functions
