Purchase Ledger Clerk

Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, our well-established client is seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team on a Temporary to permanent basis.

This job would suit either an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk or an entry level Accounts Clerk with excellent attention to detail and a real desire to learn who will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager to resolve internal, external and AP system related queries which will include liaison with suppliers and internal contacts.

The successful candidate will have previous Purchase Ledger experience and experience working within an office environment. The personality and willingness to get involved with whatever comes along will be essential in individual.

Duties will include:

  • Receipting purchase invoices from suppliers
  • Matching purchase invoices to Purchase Orders, ensuring that purchase order has been correctly approved
  • Coding and data entry of purchase invoices onto purchase ledger
  • Ad hoc preparation of Faster Payments as required
  • Filing which includes invoices, cheque requisitions, vouchers, petty cash claims and any supplier contracts
  • Raise and issue purchase orders
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
