Hotel Financial Controller

Based in Battersea, London, our client is an established hotel brand looking for a Financial Controller to join their team.

Our client requires a part-qualified accountant and it is pivotal that they have worked within a hotel previously. The purpose of the job is to maintain control over all receipts and disbursements as well as preparing the proper analysis for guidance of management.

This is an award winning company with sites nationwide and this job will be based within two London properties.

The successful individual will have great communication skills with the ability to build relationships within all departments and clients. It is essential the candidate has experience working with SAP and has great working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Duties will include:

  • Manage month end processes
  • Daily review of revenue and cash banking and full bank reconciliation
  • Forecasting
  • Payroll management, analysis and flexing in line with business needs
  • Overall responsibility for Beverage/Food Stock taking and cost control (purchasing), ensuring that you are present for all stock takes and a handover on completion
  • Co-operation with and assistance for external and internal stocktaking
  • Liaising for direct expense costs by purchase order and ensure this is in line with budgeted spend
  • Control of debts and ledger accounts
  • Day to day review of costs and expenditure with the General Manager
  • Attending financial reviews with the General Manager / Brand FC to explain all costs contained in the P&L account when required
  • Provide guidance for management by directing, preparing and providing accurate financial analysis
  • Investigate problems that may arise in reporting of hotel operations
  • Prove that systems are working accurately by performing audits
  • Analyse variances to budget in operating statement, making appropriate recommendations
  • Audit weekly costs and expenses
  • Optimise cash flow
  • Assist all departments in the preparation of budgets
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
