Job Description

Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, our client is a well-known company looking for a Part Time Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team on a permanent basis, working at least 25 hours per week office based.

This job would suit someone with at least 2 years' purchase ledger experience to be generally responsible for making BACS payments, generating coding, and checking invoices, working out VAT payments, checking and reconciling statements and dealing with all purchase enquiries.

The successful individual will have experience in a fast-moving finance function. You will have the ability to communicate and build relationships at a high level to deal with external queries and internal stakeholders. Attention to detail is critical to ensure correct processing and preparation for payment runs. Good IT knowledge such as MS Office package, Sage and BACS is required.

Job responsibilities:

  • Process invoices, reconciling delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders
  • Set up new supplier accounts
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Assist in the preparation of purchase summaries
  • Process business expenses
  • Processing BACS payments
  • The Accounts function is required to liaise with both internal departments and external parties regarding financial queries
  • To assist the Financial Controller with any additional accounting functions when requested
  • Is responsible to ensure that all duties are performed in an accurate and timely manner meeting deadlines
  • Processing all received purchase invoices and match to relevant purchase orders
  • Highlighting and recording any invoices queries
