Job Description

Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, our awarding winning client is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their busy finance team on an initial 12-month fixed term contract with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.

This job would suit someone who is in the relatively early stages of their payroll career, ideally 2 years minimum, with an enthusiasm to learn lots of new skills. They will carry out a wide variety of day-to-day payroll administration duties and process the company's weekly and four-weekly payrolls.

The business is a large international multi-site company with a strong track record in staff retention and promotion/ development. The opportunity has arisen for the business to restructure the team for the future and an interesting 12 month role has materialised that could have further scope.

The successful individual will be well organised, methodical and numerate with high level of computer literacy. You will have the ability to communicate and build relationships at a high level to deal with external queries and internal stakeholders. Attention to detail is critical to ensure correct processing.

Job responsibilities:

  • Process the company's three payrolls from start to finish.
  • Manual entry of starters, leavers and changes.
  • Import timesheet data into the payroll system.
  • Gather other payroll data from various sources (e.g. excel spreadsheets, internal forms and emails) and input into the Payroll system.
  • Process Starter checklist forms, P45's, Statutory payments and Court Orders.
  • Calculate and apply holiday rates.
  • Pension Administration.
  • Salary Sacrifice administration.
  • Assist with P11D reporting.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Deal with payroll queries.
