Job Description

Our fast-growing client based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire are looking for an International Customer Service Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will be office based 5 days per week.

This job would suit someone with excellent customer service skills, with a supply chain background, to be responsible for the advanced function within the business, being a key resource for Sales and external customer base, internal supply chain and finance functions.

This is a global business with over 40 entities, in 20 countries and with sales in over 65 countries, who have grown rapidly through acquisitions and organic growth over the last few years, with many projects going on to integrate these countries onto the systems and processes.

The successful individual will have excellent communication skills and be highly organised with the ability to manage simultaneous tasks. They will have proven ability to perform analytical logistics studies. Experience in ERP, POS or Logistical work is important for this role. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications is also a must.

  • Receive and enter sales orders from customers in assigned territory.
  • Serve as backup Customer Service for overseas.
  • Process sales orders by preparing shipments for export.
  • Work with labelling specialist to ensure proper labelling.
  • Work with carriers or forwarders to process shipment on vessel, air or truck.
  • Ensure compliance of all exporting regulations and guidelines.
  • Work with banks on letters of credit, documents on collection, international banking practices
  • Work with international warehouses on orders, end of month inventory reconciliation and fees.
  • Invoice customers, process additional documents needed such as packing list, certificate of analysis, certificates of origin, hazardous declaration forms, etc.
  • Develop excellent familiarity with the computer system - JD Edwards-Enterprise One. Use this to generate reports to meet the special requests of each regional executive. Work with accounting to close and open months.
  • Code invoices using TAP program.
