The importance of the personal statement on your CV

Your personal statement (also known as your ‘personal profile’) should sit proudly at the head of your CV. In 2019, these are essential for making your CV stand out when you are applying for a job.

In essence, the statement or profile captures all the important characteristics of your skills, experience, and personal goals into one succinct, yet powerful paragraph. In 2019, job adverts are receiving on average 9.3 applications, so you need to make an impact. Recruiters and hiring managers spend on average less than 5 minutes reviewing the submitted CVs.   • Conclude your statement with career goals and how you intend to grow.
