Job Description

Based in Thame, Oxfordshire, our multi-site Retail client is looking for an ACCA or CIMA studier (part qualified or earlier) to join them as Commercial Financial Analyst in their corporate head office.

This Commercial Financial Analyst job would suit an active ACCA or CIMA part qualified or early studier whose objective is to add value to the key functions of the Operational Finance Team. The job is based around a series of core responsibilities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and this individual is required to effectively manage their time and use their own initiative in the pursuit of these goals.

The organisation is highly prestigious and well known across the UK and Europe, employing over 4,500 staff in over 350 sites. The business has ambitious plans to increase this to over 900 sites by 2020 and is aiming to dominate their marketplace in time for the London Olympics in 2012.

The successful part qualified or earlier ACCA/ CIMA studier will have at least 18 month’s experience working on month end related activities and should be used to working to tight deadlines at month end. This role offers a great training opportunity for the successful applicant – particularly as generous study support is also offered.

Duties will include:

Commercial Accounting and Reporting – Responsibility for all Commercial Income accounting and reporting.

• During the month collect data from multiple sources, prepare and post journals to recognize income, and prepare invoice requests/ensure invoices are raised accurately.
• At month end prepare Commercial Income report, ensure consistency with all other reporting, and reconcile B/S.

 Project Accounting and Reporting – Responsibility for Project accounting and reporting.

• During the month monitor posting of project based costs, reconcile this information at month-end, and analyse in advance of month-end review.
• Post month end prepare reporting (both financial and KPI), ensure consistency with all other reporting, and reconcile B/S.

 Daily Revenue Reporting – Responsibility for Daily Revenue reporting to the business.

• On a daily basis prepare the daily revenue report, review figures for accuracy, and publish figures.
• This will involve working closely with the Revenue Department.

 Ad-hoc/Project orientated work - This business is a fast moving business that often changes direction at pace which in turn generates various impromptu finance requirements to support the business.
